I’ve always been very dedicated to community service and social justice causes.  Since my career makes me somewhat nomadic I’ve always tried to set down roots by volunteering in every community in which I’ve lived.  I’ve been a big sister for the Big Brother Big Sister program.  I’ve served as a trustee of Cazenovia College.  I’m currently a board member and volunteer at KIPP: Charlotte, a public charter school dedicated to eliminating the educational disparities that exist for underprivileged minority children.  I’m a founding member of Mustaches for Kids Charlotte. It’s a fundraising arm for Donorschoose.org which raises money to pay for local school teachers’ classroom needs.  It’s a notable fundraising effort that engages an otherwise inactive philanthropic group, men in their 20’s and 30’s.

I’ve served on numerous boards, used Twitter to collect clothing for the homeless, and support various holiday gift programs for needy children.  I’ve helped raise money for victims of the Chinese earthquake and most recently for the Haitian earthquake victims.  I truly believe giving will make you whole.
